Alseny Farinta Camara

Alseny Farinta CAMARA is a Guinean activist. Engaged from a young age in community associations (scouting, AEEMG). he established himself as a major figure in Guinean civil society, in particular by founding the National Network of Sustainable Development Actors (RENADE) and an influential member of the National Front for the Defense of the Constitution (AEEMG). he established himself as a major figure in Guinean civil society, in particular by founding the National Network of Sustainable Development Actors (RENADE) and an influential member of the National Front for the Defense of the Constitution (FNDC) to oppose the 3rd term of Alpha Condé, which led to his incarceration in 2019.

A political scientist by profession, he has led participatory governance and budget transparency projects with organizations such as PCUD, supported by UNDP, PROJEG, the World Bank and AFD. In 2016, he was trained at the YALI Regional Leadership Center in Dakar and launched initiatives against irregular migration through the network he founded.

Recognized for his leadership (awarded by YALI in 2018, nominated among the 50 influential young leaders of Guinea in 2019), he is actively involved in the fight against corruption and illicit enrichment. It is easily identifiable for its:
• Early commitment to democracy and human rights;
• Expertise in participatory budgeting and accountability;
• Local and international youth empowerment initiatives;
• Fight against authoritarian excesses and social inequalities.
